Content updated:

Definition: A Law Society accreditation for solicitors' firms that do residential conveyancing. It is a quality standard, not a regulator.

The Law Society describes it as showing that a firm's residential conveyancing meets the level expected by clients and lenders. It does not replace regulation: solicitors are regulated by the SRA whether or not their firm holds CQS.
