WaterSure eligibility

You need a water meter, three or more children under 19, or a medical condition requiring extra water, plus receipt of a qualifying benefit such as UC, PIP, Housing Benefit or Pension Credit. Apply through your water company with evidence.

Social tariffs and metering

Each water company sets its own low-income tariff — names and income thresholds differ. If you have fewer people than bedrooms, a meter often saves money even without WaterSure.
