In short: People aged 75 or over who receive Pension Credit (or live with a partner who does). Blind or severely sight-impaired licence-holders get 50% off. Residential care home residents may pay just £7.50 a year through the ARC scheme.

The over-75s concession was means-tested in 2020 and is now restricted to those receiving Pension Credit. Apply through TV Licensing — bring proof of age and Pension Credit entitlement.
You can claim a 50% reduction if you are legally certified blind or severely sight-impaired. Residential care home residents may qualify for the Accommodation for Residential Care (ARC) concessionary £7.50 licence covering all residents.
You can also apply for a refund of unused months on a paid licence if you stop needing one — for example moving abroad, into care, or no longer watching live TV or BBC iPlayer.
