How much is Winter Fuel Payment in 2026?

In short: Between £200 and £300 depending on your age and household circumstances during the qualifying period — paid as a single winter payment, usually in November or December.

Higher amounts apply where someone in the household is over 80 or you live alone.

It is tax-free and does not count as income for means-tested benefits in the usual way.
