Is pet insurance worth it in the UK?

In short: It can be worthwhile if you could not afford a sudden £3,000–£8,000 vet bill for surgery or chronic illness — lifetime cover suits breeds prone to long-term conditions. Self-insuring through savings works only if you can reliably fund large unexpected bills.
