Broadband and TV bundles: total contract cost and mid-contract rises

Where a link is marked *, it is a partner link — we receive commission at no extra cost to you. Links without a * earn us nothing. How we make money.

Bundling broadband, landline and TV can beat buying separately — but compare total cost including annual TV price rises, setup fees and exit penalties. Ofcom rules require CPI-plus rises to be stated upfront.

TV bundles add sports, film and entertainment packs to broadband. Premium sports channels dominate price — a basic fibre deal can triple once Sky Sports or TNT Sports is added.

Ofcom requires providers to show how much bills rise each April using CPI plus a fixed percentage. Check the contract summary for the exact formula before you sign.

Setup fees, router delivery, engineer visits and early termination charges differ. Leaving mid-contract usually triggers a penalty based on remaining months — compare this against standalone SIM-only mobile and streaming subscriptions.

Full-fibre (FTTP) availability passed half of UK premises in 2026 — but cable and FTTC still dominate many postcodes. Speed guarantees and Wi-Fi mesh add-ons affect real-world performance more than headline Mbps.

Social tariffs for broadband exist on some networks for benefit claimants. See our broadband TV bundles guide, compare broadband hub and broadband switching guide.
