## Summary

The Monetary Policy Committee voted 7–2 to keep Bank Rate at 4.25% for a third consecutive meeting. Savings and mortgage markets are unchanged for now, with one further cut still priced in for late 2026.

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee held Bank Rate at 4.25% on 19 June 2026, matching the May decision. Seven members voted to hold; two favoured a quarter-point cut to 4.0%.

The minutes highlighted that headline CPI is close to the 2% target but services inflation and wage growth remain above levels the MPC considers consistent with stable prices. Governor Bailey said the committee would take a 'gradual and careful' approach to any further easing.

For households, the immediate effect is limited: tracker and standard variable mortgage rates stay put, and the best easy-access savings accounts continue to pay around 4%–4.5%. Fixed-rate mortgage pricing has softened slightly ahead of the decision, with two-year fixes for 60% loan-to-value available below 4% from several lenders.

Markets still expect one quarter-point cut by the end of 2026, but the timing depends on the next two CPI releases and the Autumn fiscal statement. Check the Bank of England website for the full minutes and the next meeting date.
