## In short

Scotland's form of bankruptcy — a trustee (usually Accountant in Bankruptcy) takes control of your assets to pay creditors. MAP sequestration suits low-income households with few assets; full administration requires debts of at least £5,000.

Application fees are £90 (MAP) or £150 (full administration) to Accountant in Bankruptcy.

Discharge is typically after 12 months — income payment agreements may continue longer.
