# Who is eligible for Pension Credit?

## In short

State Pension age people on low weekly income — below roughly £227 (single) or £346 (couple) for 2025/26 Guarantee Credit thresholds. Around 760,000 eligible households do not claim; it passport-benefits to Winter Fuel Payment and other help.

Savings above £10,000 reduce entitlement gradually. Mixed-age couples rules depend on when you reached State Pension age.

Claiming unlocks Council Tax Reduction, free TV licence (over 75s), NHS help and Housing Benefit in many cases.
