# What is a PAC code for switching mobile?

## In short

A Porting Authorisation Code lets you move your mobile number to a new network. Text PAC to 65075 — your provider must give it within one minute. Give the code to your new provider to complete the switch.

PAC codes expire after 30 days.

Switching usually completes within one working day once the new provider has the PAC.
