# What is a broadband early termination fee?

A charge for leaving before your minimum contract ends — often the remaining monthly fees or a fixed penalty. Check before signing if you may move; some providers waive fees if guaranteed speeds are not met.

Social tariffs sometimes have shorter contracts and lower exit costs.

One Touch Switch does not remove exit fees on your old contract.
