# What is a 0% purchase credit card?

## In short

A card charging no interest on new purchases for a promotional period — often 12–24 months. Minimum payments still apply; standard APR hits any balance left when the promo ends.

Best for planned spending you can clear within the window — not for long-term debt.

Do not confuse with 0% balance transfer cards, which charge on new spending.
