# How do I compare credit cards in the UK?

## In short

Match card type to your goal — 0% purchase, balance transfer, credit builder or rewards — then compare representative APR, fees, interest-free period and eligibility. Use soft-search tools before applying; rewards only work if you pay in full monthly.

Factor balance transfer fees (often 2%–3%) and annual fees into total cost.

Section 75 protection applies to purchases between £100 and £30,000 on credit cards.
