## In short

Courts consider needs, children, marriage length, earning capacity and assets — not an automatic 50/50 split. Property, pensions, savings and maintenance are resolved by agreement, mediation or financial remedy court order.

Decree absolute ends marriage but does not divide money — you need a financial consent order or court order.

Full disclosure of assets is mandatory in court proceedings.
